The Powered by Movement Promise

At PXM, we promise...

No more waiting hours to see your healthcare provider. You will be seen on time, every time.

Your appointments will always be one on one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We firmly believe that, in order to provide the highest quality of care, our treatment must be specific to each client’s anatomy and specific movement patterns. At each appointment, you will have our full, undivided attention to ensure we can optimize your plan of care and individualize treatment strategies to meet your specific goals.

As movement system experts, we operate on the principle that the human body is powered by movement and your body is no exception. Our passion is helping clients reach their goals through understanding of the movement system. Each posture or activity you perform has an associated pattern that dictates the quality of your movement. The human body is a master compensator and loves to take the path of least resistance. When these compensations lead to altered movement patterns that cause pain, we teach you how to move in patterns that minimize stress and optimize performance.

We teach you how to find your independence through optimizing movement. We help you take control of your health and get back to the activities you love. Often, traditional physical therapy ends when you are out of pain. At PXM, we will ensure that you are confident in your knowledge and skills gained to maintain lifelong independence and power over your active health. We will work with you to reach any goal you have whether that is being active with family, competing at the highest levels or anything in between!

Free Phone Consultation!

PXM is founded on the principle that our clients come first. We, unfortunately, live in a world that prioritizes units billed over time spent with each client. Time is the most valuable resource we have, and we value your time. We understand that finding the best physical therapist for you is very important. We offer all prospective clients a free phone consultation to discuss your specific goals and determine if we are the best fit for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Initial Evaluations are 75 minutes long. Return appointments are 60 minutes long.

In the state of Missouri, it is required by law that you obtain a referral, or script, for physical therapy services to be rendered. You do not need a referral for wellness or performance services.

You can obtain a referral from any of the following providers: a physician (primary care or specialty), a chiropractor, an advanced practice nurse, a physician’s assistant, a podiatrist, or a dentist. It is highly recommended that you obtain a referral prior to your first physical therapy appointment to maximize your time spent with us. You or your referring provider can fax referrals to: (314) 200-1249.

Powered by Movement is a private pay practice, which means we are not contracted with any insurance companies. We accept full payment directly from you at the time of service.

While we do collect payment directly from our clients, we provide an itemized superbill that can be submitted to your insurance company. By submitting your superbill, you may be able to recover a percentage of the cost you pay up front from your insurance company depending on your “Out-Of-Network” coverage.

YOU come first!

  • Our top priority at Powered by Movement is YOU. We intentionally chose an out of network model to ensure we can provide high quality care based on your needs and goals. We do not want your physical therapy care dictated by third party payers who do not have your best interests in mind.
  • Without insurance companies involved, you get a much larger say in the duration and type of care you receive.

We value your time and goals!

  • A significant challenge for in-network practices is declining reimbursement rates. This results in triple booking patients, handing off treatments to therapy aides, or being scheduled 3 times per week. You do not receive individualized care, waste your time and money, and leave with mediocre outcomes.
  • It is well known that private pay physical therapy results in fewer visits than in-network services, because you spend all of your time one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. This saves you money and time and helps you achieve your goals faster!

Extra In-Network Fees!

  • In-network fees can exceed the cost of private pay practice as they must cover the cost of insurance contracts, negotiations, pre-authorization staff, billing staff, claims denials, and accounting departments.
  • The rates that private pay practices charge are typically lower than in-network services because there is no third party involved. Private pay can be particularly cost effective if you have a high deductible plan.

Yes! For physical therapy services, you can pay with your HSA or FSA.
